Want to Limit Overeating? Get More Sleep

To get ripped you need all the will power you can muster. A recent study by Harvard University, explained here, suggests that sleep deprivation may undermine your good intentions of staying away from the high-fat and high-carb foods. The researchers used fMRI to visualise the brain activity in the prefrontal regions, which are responsible for impulse-control. The study showed that the sleepier people felt during the day, the lower the activity measured in the prefrontal regions.

Just like it is important to plan when you will go to gym, go for a run or prepare you healthy meal, it is equally (and perhaps even more) important to plan your night's rest. Personal experience tells it is often much harder to consistently ensure 8 or more hours sleep throughout the week. But if you are serious about getting ripped, sorting our your sleeping habits is a must.
